Duties
- Greet customers warmly, assist with product inquiries, and provide product demos to showcase items’ features and benefits.
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately for cash handling, credit card transactions, and upselling opportunities
- Create displays, organize merchandise, and ensure the store remains clean and inviting for shoppers
- Conduct merchandising activities such as staging furniture and art to highlight featured products and optimize sales potential
- Assist with inventory management by receiving donations, tagging and pricing items, and researching donated goods.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions professionally using phone etiquette when assisting remote inquiries.
- Prior retail sales experience preferred, especially in thrift stores or grocery environments where customer service is key.
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership roles in retail settings are highly valued.
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math ensures efficient checkout processes
- Strong communication skills to engage customers effectively and work collaboratively with team members
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, or product demos enhances your ability to create an appealing shopping environment
- Knowledge of phone etiquette and upselling techniques helps maximize sales opportunities
