Trauma Therapist (LGSW / LGPC) – Victims of Crime Program

At Paving the Way MSI, you will do more than provide therapy you will help individuals and families heal from the effects of trauma while building specialized skills in trauma-informed behavioral healthcare.

As a Trauma Therapist within our Victims of Crime Program, you will provide therapeutic services to children, adolescents, adults, and older adults impacted by violence, victimization, and other traumatic experiences. You will become part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping individuals build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and move toward recovery.

Many of the individuals we serve have experienced significant trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, family conflict, chronic stress, and other challenges that affect their daily lives. Through your work, you will provide compassionate, evidence-based care while receiving support, mentorship, and professional development opportunities that strengthen your clinical expertise.

What You'll Do

As a Trauma Therapist, you will provide therapeutic services that support healing, resilience, and recovery.

You will:

  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy using trauma-informed approaches
  • Conduct assessments, trauma screenings, and treatment planning
  • Support individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, family conflict, and other behavioral health concerns
  • Utilize evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions to support recovery
  • Facilitate therapeutic groups and wellness-focused activities that promote emotional regulation and resilience
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, care coordinators, schools, community partners, and other providers to support positive treatment outcomes
  • Participate in multidisciplinary treatment planning and clinical consultation
  • Maintain an active caseload while delivering high-quality, person-centered care


Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field
  • Active DC LGSW, LGPC, or equivalent provisional behavioral health license
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with trauma survivors, victims of crime, or community mental health populations
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families
  • Experience facilitating individual and group therapy
  • Experience utilizing evidence-based treatment approaches

Salary : $65,000 - $69,000
