Pavilion of South Shore is seeking a Housekeeping Manager to join their team! The Housekeeping Manager ensures that a clean facility and laundry is completed accurately and timely. They also manage both the Housekeeping and Laundry Staff. Housekeeping Manager Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for recruitment, training, clinical orientation, supervision, scheduling, time cards, and personnel issues in the department.Conducts regular inventories of all environmental and laundry supplies prior to placing orders that remain within budget and meet the needs of the department. Coordinates and thoroughly checks resident rooms to assure all new admissions and residents who have transferred rooms are afforded a clean, comfortable, homelike, safe and sanitary environment. Takes any immediate corrective actions as warranted. Checks all other resident rooms, common areas and the exterior of the facility on a daily basis to assure the environment remains clean, comfortable, homelike, safe and sanitary. Takes immediate corrective actions as warranted. Provides regular staff in-services on housekeeping/laundry department policies and procedures, new equipment, safety, supplies, infection control, use of the maintenance log, resident respect and dignity and confidentiality as well as other required in-service programs as deemed appropriate. All other duties, as assigned. Housekeeping Manager Qualifications and Skills:Basic arithmetic skills for calculation of inventory and ordering costs. Must possess knowledge of housekeeping and laundry service policies, procedures and practices pertaining to health care facilities. Good organizational and problem-solving skills. Able to read, write, speak, and understand English. Housekeeping Manager Education and Experience:High School diploma or equivalent required. At least one year of prior managerial experience in an environmental and laundry services position, preferably in a health care setting is desired.Prior experience working in a long-term care facility a plus. Physical Requirements: Able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
