What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site Manager, Clinical Engineering (New Orleans, LA) position at Pave Talent?
You've spent years learning what it takes to run a clinical engineering operation the right way. You know how to lead technicians, manage budgets, navigate hospital politics, and keep Joint Commission inspections from becoming fire drills. Now imagine doing all of that at a 300 bed medical center with an established team, a supportive director above you, and the backing of one of the largest independent clinical asset management companies in the country.
โ
Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of our client, a nationally recognized clinical asset management organization that partners with major health systems across the United States. This company has been recognized as a Top 100 Global Inspiring Workplace and invests millions annually in training and developing their clinical engineering leaders. They operate at hundreds of hospital sites nationwide, giving you a real career path with upward mobility into director-level roles without needing to change companies.

You'll lead the clinical engineering operation at a large medical center in the greater New Orleans area. The facility is a 324-bed hospital, and your team includes one imaging technician and five biomedical equipment technicians covering this primary site plus two additional nearby facilities.
โ
This is a backfill created by an internal promotion. The previous senior site manager moved into a director role, which tells you two things: the team is stable, and the company promotes from within. The director who was promoted is currently providing interim coverage, so there is urgency to get the right person in place.
โ
You'll report to a network director, who reports to a general manager. On the client side, you'll interface directly with hospital C-suite leadership, including the CNO. Your ability to build trust with both your internal leadership team and the hospital's executive staff is what separates a good site manager from a great one.

This role is leadership first, technical second. You are not going to be turning wrenches on equipment day to day. But you need to understand the work your team does well enough to guide them, troubleshoot operational issues, and speak credibly with hospital leadership about clinical engineering capabilities. The team is described as established and solid, but like any team, there will be interpersonal dynamics and performance situations that require a confident, experienced people leader.
โ
The company uses a proprietary clinical engineering management system that every new manager trains on extensively. Feedback on the training has been consistently positive, so don't let unfamiliarity with their specific platform deter you.
