Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Asphalt Equipment Operator / General Laborer / Heavy Equipment Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment operation and construction site experience. This role involves operating various types of machinery and performing essential labor tasks to ensure the successful completion of asphalt and concrete projects.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, and dump trucks for various construction tasks.
- Manage the operation of concrete mixers and concrete pumping equipment.
- Assist in paving activities, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Perform concrete forming and finishing tasks to meet project specifications.
- Install rebar as required for structural integrity in concrete applications.
- Maintain equipment by conducting regular inspections and performing minor mechanical repairs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed on the construction site.
- Support general labor duties as needed, contributing to the overall success of projects.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with excavators, loaders, and dump trucks.
- Familiarity with asphalt paving techniques and concrete work including forming, finishing, and pumping.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain equipment effectively.
- Previous construction site experience is preferred, demonstrating an understanding of safety practices and procedures.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus but not mandatory; willingness to obtain one is encouraged.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated.
