Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, dozers, excavators, skid steers, compactors, and related machinery.
- Safely move, push, load, and spread waste and recyclable materials.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Follow all company, OSHA, and site-specific safety protocols, including proper PPE usage.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas (tipping floor, landfill, transfer station, etc.).
- Assist with general labor tasks when needed, including site cleanup and material handling.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to maintain efficient operations.
- Participate in recurring safety meetings and required training sessions.
- Previous heavy equipment operating experience required—experience in landfill, transfer station, or recycling environments strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of equipment safety procedures and safe operation around personnel and vehicles.
- Strong work ethic with consistent reliability and punctuality.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor as needed.
- Outdoor, high-activity environment with exposure to noise, dust, odors, heavy machinery, and varying weather conditions.
- Requires strong situational awareness, teamwork, and adherence to strict safety standards.
- Schedule varies by location and operational needs (example: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM).
- Weekly pay; specific rate determined by site and experience level.
