This position plays a critical role in keeping our excavation, asphalt, concrete, and maintenance crews operating efficiently and on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport heavy equipment, construction materials, and support vehicles to and from job sites.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment in compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, inspection reports, and required documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and dispatch personnel regarding delivery schedules and equipment needs.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist with equipment operation and job site support when needed.
- Ensure all loads are properly secured and transported safely.
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
- Experience hauling heavy equipment, construction machinery, or oversized loads preferred.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe transportation practices.
- Ability to operate and load various types of construction equipment.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime as project demands require.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and comply with company safety policies.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to climb on and off trucks, trailers, and equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
