Our Cedar Rapids team is growing, and we’re looking for a strong Reconstruction Project Manager who can take ownership of projects, manage subcontractors, and drive jobs from start to finish.
The Opportunity
This is a true ownership role, not just managing tasks, but owning the outcome.
You will:
- Run reconstruction projects from handoff through completion
- Manage subcontractors, timelines, and budgets
- Work directly with homeowners and insurance carriers
- Ensure jobs are completed on time, on budget, and at a high standard

What You’ll Be Responsible For: Project Management & Execution
- Manage reconstruction projects from scope approval through final completion
- Review and execute based on Xactimate estimates and project scopes
- Develop and maintain project timelines and schedules
- Identify and resolve issues before they impact progress
Budgeting, Job Costing & Margin Control
- Track job costs including labor, materials, and subcontractors
- Ensure projects hit target margins and budgets
- Review invoices, change orders, and cost overruns
- Take action early when projects go off track
Estimating & Supplements
- Create and/or review Xactimate estimates
- Write and submit supplements when scope changes
- Work directly with insurance adjusters to justify scope and cost
- Ensure documentation supports approvals and payment
Subcontractor & Vendor Management
- Schedule and coordinate subcontractors and trades
- Set expectations around scope, timeline, and quality
- Hold subcontractors accountable for performance
- Maintain strong relationships while enforcing standards
Scheduling & Workflow Management
- Manage 5–10 projects simultaneously
- Coordinate timelines across trades, inspections, and materials
- Keep projects moving without delays
- Adjust schedules as conditions change
Customer Communication & Experience
- Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners
- Set expectations clearly from day one
- Provide consistent updates throughout the project
- Handle escalations and difficult conversations professionally
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate job files, notes, and documentation
- Ensure contracts, change orders, and approvals are completed
- Track job progress through company systems
- Ensure compliance with insurance and company standards
What We’re Looking For Must-Haves
- 3 years of experience in reconstruction, restoration, or construction project management
- Hands-on experience writing estimates in Xactimate (not just reviewing)
- Strong understanding of insurance claims, scopes, and supplements
- Experience managing multiple projects (5–10 at once)
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors, schedules, and budgets
- Strong communication skills in high-stress customer situations
- Experience with job costing and margin control
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred
- IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, FSRT, etc.)
- Experience with SERVPRO, ServiceMaster, Paul Davis, BELFOR, etc.
- Experience with TPAs and insurance carriers
- Familiarity with Dash, PSA, Encircle, or similar systems
- Experience in both mitigation reconstruction coordination
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $60,000 – $80,000 (DOE)
- Quarterly Bonus: Based on project volume margins

- Monday – Friday, typically 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
