- Develops and administers an English Language Arts curriculum consistent with school district goals, objectives, and state standards.
- Establishes and maintains a classroom environment that is safe, inclusive, and conducive to individualized, small-group, and whole-class instruction.
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and translates plans into meaningful and engaging learning experiences.
- Teaches English language arts knowledge and skills, including grammar and syntax, sentence and paragraph structure, composition, vocabulary development, word denotations and connotations, creative writing, independent thinking, communication, and speaking skills.
- Develops students' critical analysis skills through guided discussions and instruction using a variety of reading materials, including literature, informational texts, and mass media.
- Conducts ongoing assessments of student learning and progress and adjusts instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.

- Maintains accurate and complete records related to grading, attendance, and student performance in accordance with district and building procedures and policies.

- Missouri English 9-12 certification.

The teacher supports the development of literacy skills, including reading, grammar, and syntax, to prepare students for academic success.
