Wash Bay Technician

Location: Clayton, Iowa
Wage: $19.50/hour starting wage, increases based on experience
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Pattison Company is seeking a Wash Bay Technician to assist in the maintenance and cleaning of our fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the mechanical field, as it provides an opportunity to assist our mechanics during downtime.

Primary Responsibilities

• Wash and detail machines in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ensure all vehicles and equipment are thoroughly cleaned, including exterior, interior, wheels, and engine bay.
• Maintain the wash bay area, keeping it clean and organized.
• Report any damages or maintenance concerns to managers.
• Assist mechanics and other departments as needed.
• Follow all safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
• Adhere to MSHA, State, and Federal Regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning.
• Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts.
• Willingness to safely wear a half-mask respirator for up to 12 hours.
• Willing to work any assigned shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
• Physically capable of:
  • Standing for 6-12 hours on uneven sandy/rocky surfaces.
  • Lifting 60-80 lbs. without mechanical assistance.
  • Climbing on and off equipment and ladders.
  • Working at heights of 30–50 feet.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Education & Work Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Certifications & Licenses

• MSHA Part 48 certification required (Training available on-site).
• Valid driver’s license required for all Pattison Company employees unless deemed non-essential to the position by HR.
