We specialize in strength training while helping clients improve body composition, mobility, stability, and conditioning. Sessions are intentionally kept to approximately 8–12 clients to maintain a high level of individual coaching and create a training experience that is unique to the Hackettstown area.

Role Description:
PMPT is looking for a part-time Assistant Coach to help coach our growing small-group strength training program.
Current training hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:30–7PM and Saturday mornings from 8:30–10:30 AM. Additional time should be allotted before and after sessions for setup and cleanup.
Responsibilities include preparing the training area, ensuring equipment and the facility are safe for use, coaching clients through strength and conditioning exercises, and modifying movements based on individual needs and abilities. Our clients primarily range from their 30s through 70s, so patience, adaptability, and the ability to connect with people of different fitness levels are extremely important.
The ideal coach will bring a positive attitude, growth mindset, strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to help people succeed. Some light cleaning, record keeping, and administrative responsibilities may also be included.
Qualifications:
- First Aid & CPR certification required (PMPT can assist with obtaining certification)
- Certified Personal Trainer credential required (PMPT may provide financial assistance toward obtaining certification)
- Previous experience as a personal trainer or group fitness instructor preferred
- Basic understanding of exercise science, injury prevention, and safe training progressions
- Ability to demonstrate and coach fundamental strength and conditioning movements safely and effectively
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Patient and comfortable coaching adults with varying fitness levels and abilities
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to work part-time on-site in Allamuchy, NJ
- Willingness to learn, receive feedback, and grow as a coach
- Ability to lift and move barbells, dumbbells, and other exercise equipment independently
