Role Description The Routine Foot Care Nurse is a full-time, on-site role based in Jasper, IN. This role is responsible for providing routine foot care services such as nail trimming, callus and corn care, skin assessments, and basic wound observation under established protocols and supervision of podiatric providers. Day-to-day tasks include preparing patients for visits, documenting care accurately in medical records, monitoring for signs of complications, and communicating concerns to the podiatrist or supervising clinician. The nurse will provide patient education on proper foot hygiene, footwear, and preventive care, while maintaining a clean, safe clinical environment and adhering to infection control standards. Collaboration with other clinical staff, supporting patient flow, and contributing to a respectful and inclusive patient experience are central to the role.
Qualifications
- Current, active nursing license (LPN or RN) in the state of Indiana and good standing with the relevant licensing board.
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in routine foot care, podiatry, wound care, or related clinical settings.
- Solid clinical assessment skills, including observation of skin integrity, circulation, and signs of infection or complications.
- Strong documentation and basic computer skills for accurate charting in electronic or paper medical records.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work respectfully with patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff.
- Commitment to infection control, safety procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment.
- Ability to work on-site full time in French Lick, IN, including standing for extended periods and performing repetitive fine motor tasks.
