Position Overview:
Patient Centered Services is seeking an experienced Travel ER Registered Nurse to join a high-acuity Emergency Department in Washington, DC. This fast-paced environment requires a confident and skilled RN with strong trauma experience who is comfortable working as a bedside trauma nurse and managing diverse patient populations.
Patient Centered Services is seeking an experienced Travel ER Registered Nurse to join a high-acuity Emergency Department in Washington, DC. This fast-paced environment requires a confident and skilled RN with strong trauma experience who is comfortable working as a bedside trauma nurse and managing diverse patient populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department
- Serve as bedside trauma RN in the trauma room when needed
- Manage patient ratios up to 1:5
- Perform advanced critical care interventions including medication titration, arterial line monitoring, mass transfusion protocols, and chest tube management
- Deliver care to a wide range of patients including urgent care, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma/critical care cases
- Coordinate and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
- Promote a positive patient experience while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced setting
- Accurately document care using Cerner EMR system
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current RN license in Washington, DC (Required)
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program (Required)
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Room experience (Required)
- Certifications Required:
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Cerner experience (Required)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Highly preferred
Additional Requirements:
- Must reside at least 50 miles from Washington, DC to qualify for travel status
- Must be comfortable working in trauma settings and handling high patient acuity
- Ability to work night shifts and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
