Position Overview
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and improving electrical systems, controls, and equipment used in industrial manufacturing and process applications. This role will leverage technical expertise to support new product development, customer applications, troubleshooting efforts, and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who enjoys working cross-functionally and can successfully bridge engineering concepts with operational and customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance electrical systems, controls, and industrial equipment
- Create and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control system documentation, and engineering drawings
- Develop specifications for electrical components, assemblies, and system integration
- Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and technical issue resolution for installed equipment
- Collaborate with customers, field service personnel, manufacturing teams, and internal stakeholders to provide technical expertise
- Partner with sales and engineering teams to develop application-specific solutions
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, industry standards, and safety requirements
- Prepare and review engineering documentation, calculations, and project deliverables
- Support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide technical guidance and recommendations to project teams and leadership
- Travel approximately 10-15% to customer sites and project locations as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline
- 5 years of electrical engineering experience within industrial, manufacturing, automation, or related environments
- Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving capabilities
- Experience with relay logic, PLC operation, and PLC programming
- Knowledge of AC power distribution systems
- Strong communication, project coordination, and documentation skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 15%
Preferred Qualifications
- AutoCAD Electrical experience
- SolidWorks experience
- Working knowledge of NEC and UL standards
- Experience with PLC-based control systems, HMIs, instrumentation, and industrial automation
- Background supporting industrial equipment, custom machinery, or fabrication environments
- CFD and/or FEA experience
- Familiarity with combustion systems, emissions control equipment, thermal processing systems, or other industrial process technologies
