Position Overview
Pathway Talent Partners is leading the search for a growing, multi-entity services organization seeking a detail-oriented, self-directed Accounting Manager to take ownership of day-to-day accounting operations. This role will be responsible for maintaining strong financial discipline across entities, leading a clean and timely month-end close, and producing comprehensive financial reporting packages. The Accounting Manager will also partner closely with leadership and external CPAs, providing visibility into business performance and supporting financial analysis, including during acquisition and due diligence activities.

Key Responsibilities
Ongoing Accounting Operations
Ensure accurate and timely data flow between operational systems and the general ledger
Monitor receivables and payables on a recurring basis; manage cash position and support timely vendor disbursements
Perform regular reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts
Maintain a rolling short-term cash forecast and track liquidity needs
Review un-invoiced work and follow up on outstanding customer balances
Close Process & Financial Accuracy
Lead the monthly close process, including full account reconciliations and period finalization
Prepare and record accruals across revenue and expenses, including payroll-related items, vendor costs, and other liabilities
Manage balance sheet accounts such as prepaids, deposits, debt, and fixed assets
Reconcile activity across multiple entities and ensure financials are completed within established close timelines
M&A / Growth Support
Assist with acquisition-related efforts, including financial analysis and organization of diligence materials
Evaluate historical financials and identify adjustments or potential risks
Support integration of newly acquired entities into existing accounting processes
Reporting & Financial Insights
Prepare a comprehensive monthly reporting package, including financial statements, cash flow insights, and operational metrics
Track and analyze key performance indicators such as margins, labor efficiency, profitability, and cash trends
Partner with leadership to explain variances and provide actionable financial insights
Coordinate closely with external accounting partners to support tax filings and ensure accurate documentation across entities
Qualifications
- 3 years of accounting experience with demonstrated ownership of month-end close
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online; experience with multi-entity structures preferred
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and accrual-basis accounting
- Experience maintaining cash flow forecasts and coordinating with external CPAs
- Familiarity with field service platforms (ServiceTitan or similar) a plus
- Comfortable operating in a small company where priorities shift and processes are still being built
- High attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to manage deadlines independently
