We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide high-quality psychiatric and medication management services as an Independent Contractor (1099). Responsibilities
As an Independent Contractor, you will:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.
- Diagnose and treat patients with psychiatric and substance use disorders.
- Develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practices.
- Prescribe, monitor, and manage psychiatric medications within the scope of your licensure and DEA registration.
- Order, review, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory testing as clinically appropriate.
- Educate patients regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, and recovery goals.
- Provide medication management and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with therapists, physicians, and other members of the treatment team to coordinate patient care.
- Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the electronic medical record.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable federal and state laws, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality requirements.
- Exercise independent clinical judgment while adhering to applicable regulatory and professional standards.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must possess:
- Current Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification.
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in good standing in the state of practice.
- Current DEA registration with authority to prescribe controlled substances, as permitted by law.
- National certification as a PMHNP.
- Experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, Office-Based Opioid Treatment (OBOT), primary care, or community health is preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
Independent Contractor Requirements
Qualified contractors must:
- Maintain an unrestricted professional license in the applicable state(s).
- Maintain an active DEA registration.
- Maintain professional liability (malpractice) insurance.
- Maintain all required certifications and continuing education.
- Possess an active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Complete all required credentialing and enrollment documentation.
- Execute an Independent Contractor Agreement and Business Associate Agreement (BAA), as applicable.
- Meet all documentation, compliance, quality assurance, and regulatory requirements established by Pathway Healthcare and applicable governing agencies.
