POSITION ROLE
The Senior Accountant plays a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of an organization. This position requires a high level of expertise in accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. The below description is intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the responsibilities and qualifications expected. Specific duties may vary.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads the maintenance of the general ledger and ensures regular ledger maintenance occurs; sets up new entities and updates the chart of accounts.
- Prepares journal entries to correctly code and record credit card expenses and management fees and other intercompany transactions.
- Maintains cash schedules to assist in the proper reporting of cash receipts and revenue, cash position and bank limits.
- Collaborates with the Controller and other finance team members to provide leadership in monitoring the month end close schedule and facilitating month-end close processes.
- Creates financial statements and necessary supporting schedules to assist with analyzing operations for multiple entities.
- Assists with monthly, quarterly variance analysis to monitor budget pacing for multiple entities.
- Participates with external audit(s) through record retrieval and process demonstration for auditors.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
To be qualified, the Senior Accountant must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, and;
- Five years or more Accounting experience in a health care setting preferred.
