School Nurse
Position:
Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School is a four-year regional vocational technical high school serving approximately 650 students and currently offering fifteen technical programs. The district is currently expanding, with projected enrollment growth over the coming years. This School Nurse position will be assigned primarily to the district’s main campus located in Palmer, Massachusetts.
While the position will be primarily based at the Palmer location, the School Nurse may be required to provide coverage or support at the Cold Spring campus in Belchertown on an occasional basis. It is expected that the School Nurse from each campus location will collaborate to execute student care plans and all aspects of district student health services.

Department of Elementary and Secondary Education License:
School Nurse (Levels: All)
(a) Provisional License
Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
A bachelor's or master's degree in nursing.
Passing score on the Communication and Literacy Skills test.
Completion of training within the orientation program for delivery of school health
services as defined by the Department of Public Health and identified by the
Department.
(b) Initial License
Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
A bachelor's or master's degree in nursing.
A minimum of two full years of employment as a Registered Nurse in a child health,
community health, or other relevant clinical nursing setting.
Completion of an orientation program based on the requirements for delivery of
school health services as defined by the Department of Public Health.
Passing score on the Communication and Literacy Skills test.
(c) Professional License
Possession and maintenance of a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in
Massachusetts.
Possession of an Initial license.
Three years of employment as a school nurse.
Completion of one of the following:
Achievement and maintenance of certification or licensure by a nationally
recognized professional nursing association as a school nurse, community
health nurse, or a pediatric/family/school nurse practitioner.
A master's degree program that may include credits earned in a master's
degree program for the Initial license in community health, health education,
nursing, or public health.
Compensation:
Compensation will be in accordance with the approved FY27 Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School salary schedule, with a salary range of $57,836 to $100,154.

available in addition to FMLA. Employees receive 15 paid sick days and 2 paid personal days

Additionally, attractive longevity pay is granted beginning in the eighth year of service.
