Job Type: Full-Time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Department: Assembly

JOB SUMMARY:

Pathfinder Manufacturing is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Kitter to support aerospace manufacturing operations. The Kitter is responsible for accurately counting, sorting, organizing, verifying, and staging parts, hardware, materials, and work-order components into complete production kits. This position requires exceptional numerical accuracy and organization because incorrect quantities, mixed parts, or incomplete kits can delay production and affect product quality. The ideal candidate is comfortable performing repetitive counts, distinguishing similar part numbers, and maintaining accurate material traceability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accurately count parts, hardware, fasteners, components, and materials to verify required quantities against work orders, pick lists, bills of material (BOMs), routers, and other production documentation.

Sort parts and materials by part number, work order, lot/batch, size, type, revision, or other required identifiers, ensuring similar-looking components are not mixed.

Build complete and accurate kits for aerospace manufacturing jobs according to production schedules and documented requirements.

Perform recounts and independent quantity verification when counts do not match documentation or when discrepancies are identified.

Identify, separate, and report shortages, overages, damaged material, incorrect parts, mixed hardware, or other discrepancies before kits are released to production.

Label, bag, package, and stage kitted materials so parts remain organized, protected, traceable, and easy for production employees to verify and use.

Review part numbers, quantities, descriptions, and applicable documentation carefully before placing materials into a kit.

Maintain separation and traceability of materials throughout the kitting process and prevent commingling of parts from different work orders, lots, or programs.

Use scales, counting tools, scanners, computers, inventory systems, and other material-control equipment as required to support accurate counting and tracking.

Record material movements, shortages, kit status, and other required information accurately and promptly in company systems or production documentation.

Coordinate with Material Control, Production, Planning, Quality, and other departments to resolve missing or questionable material before work is released.

Maintain clean, orderly, and clearly identified kitting and staging areas using good housekeeping and lean manufacturing practices.

Follow all company safety, quality, foreign-object-debris (FOD), material handling, and aerospace manufacturing requirements.

Perform other related material handling, inventory, or production-support duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Ability to count accurately and consistently, including large quantities and repetitive groups of small parts or hardware.

Strong sorting and organizational skills with the ability to keep multiple work orders, part numbers, and quantities separated and clearly identified.

Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and quantity verification.

Ability to read and compare part numbers, work orders, pick lists, bills of material, labels, and other manufacturing documentation.

High attention to detail and the ability to recognize small differences in part numbers, descriptions, sizes, quantities, and labeling.

Ability to follow written instructions, standardized processes, and established quality requirements.

Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory, ERP, barcode, or production-tracking systems.

Ability to communicate discrepancies clearly and ask questions when material or documentation does not match.

U.S. Person status required due to export control regulations.

BENEFITS:

Health, dental, and vision insurance

403(b) retirement plan with company match

Paid time off and holidays

Ongoing training and advancement opportunities
