A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney to join its Washington, DC office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with substantial family law experience who is comfortable managing cases from inception through resolution and has meaningful courtroom and litigation experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle a broad range of family law matters from initial consultation through resolution, including trial when necessary.
- Develop case strategies and effectively advocate for clients in court.
- Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Represent clients in hearings, negotiations, mediations, and trials.
- Manage a caseload independently while maintaining strong client communication and case organization.
- Develop and maintain client relationships and contribute to the growth of the practice.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of substantive family law experience.
- Meaningful courtroom and litigation experience.
- Experience handling family law matters through resolution and/or trial strongly preferred.
- Active D.C. Bar membership strongly preferred.
- Attorneys currently barred in Virginia and/or Maryland will also be considered if they are eligible and willing to pursue admission to the D.C. Bar by motion in the near future.
- Strong legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage matters independently and effectively prioritize competing deadlines.
- Excellent judgment, professionalism, and client-service skills.
Attorneys whose practices include both Family Law and Criminal Defense are welcome to apply, provided they have substantial family law experience.
Salary : $100,000 - $125,000
