JOB TITLE: Human Resource Manager

SUMMARY:
The Human Resource Manager (HR Manager) builds and manages Path2Freedom’s HR function to support a trauma-informed, mission-driven workforce serving survivors of human trafficking. This role is responsible for recruiting and onboarding processes, employee relations, performance support, training coordination, HR compliance, personnel records, and policy/handbook development.
The HR Manager helps create clear systems that protect staff and the organization, strengthen culture, and ensure Path2Freedom remains compliant with applicable employment laws and internal standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
HR Operations, Compliance & Records
- Maintain accurate, confidential personnel files and HR documentation in accordance with Path2Freedom standards.
- Support compliance with applicable federal and Florida employment requirements (e.g., wage and hour, leave, anti-discrimination, accommodations, and required postings).
- Maintain HR tracking systems (evaluations, incidents related to staff conduct, and corrective action documentation).
Recruitment, Hiring & Onboarding
- Partner with leadership to post positions, manage applicant flow, and maintain consistent hiring steps.
- Coordinate screening, interviews, reference checks, and hiring documentation.
- Ensure job descriptions are current, accurate, and aligned with program needs and compliance requirements.
- Lead onboarding processes (offer letters, new hire paperwork, orientation, required trainings, and initial check-ins).
- Coordinate employee separation processes (resignations, terminations, exit documentation, and offboarding checklists).
Employee Relations & Performance Support
- Serve as a point of contact for staff questions related to policies, benefits, timekeeping, workplace concerns, and professional conduct.
- Support supervisors with performance management processes (goal setting, coaching documentation, evaluations, corrective action, and improvement plans).
- Help address workplace conflict using trauma-informed, respectful communication and clear boundaries.
- Support investigations and documentation related to employee conduct or policy concerns, in coordination with leadership.
Policies, Training & Culture
- Develop, update, and maintain the Employee Handbook and HR policies/procedures in alignment with Path2Freedom values.
- Coordinate required trainings (DCF-related training tracking as applicable, CPR, medication administration where applicable, trauma-informed care training, and other role-specific requirements).
- Support internal communications related to HR processes, expectations, and staff support resources.
- Promote a healthy, mission-aligned workplace culture that models professionalism, confidentiality, and Christ-like communication.
Compensation, Benefits & HR Administration
- Support payroll/timekeeping processes (as assigned) to ensure accurate reporting of hours, leave, and schedules.
- Coordinate benefits administration (enrollment, changes, and employee questions) as applicable.
- Support compensation benchmarking and internal pay structure documentation as requested.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have direct supervisory authority but works closely with Program Administrator in program staff file managmenet and onboarding.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- 3 years of progressive HR experience preferred (nonprofit and/or residential care environment a plus).
- Knowledge of HR compliance and best practices, including employee relations and documentation standards.
- Strong professionalism, boundaries, and confidentiality.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stakes or sensitive situations.
- Commitment to Path2Freedom’s mission and values.
- Successful completion of background screening as required by Path2Freedom.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Remote Office
- Occasional travel to onsite property for meetings and staff interactions
- Must be able to sit/stand for extended periods, use a computer and phone, and occasionally move files/supplies.
- May require occasional evenings/weekends to support hiring or staff needs.
