Position Summary: Position reports to the Site Director. The Production Manager is responsible for all aspects of training operators, meeting safety regulations and expectations, executing the production plan to support customer demand, and leading the union labor staff. As a member of the management team, the Production Manager takes part in leadership within the framework of the Patco strategy. The position develops and maintains operational conformity within company, state and federal requirements for food manufacturing.
Minimum Qualifications: Production
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business or a related field.
Experience: Minimum five (5) years' experience in an operations management, and Food Manufacturing Leadership.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Safety – Provide leadership to all operations employees related to safe work practices, good housekeeping and following safety procedures.
- Quality – Responsible for promoting and ensuring food safety, legality and quality with their areas of responsibility. Ensures the conformance of Grandview processes and activities to FDA cGMP (21CFR Part 110), ISO 9001, EXCiPACT, and BRC standards.
- Coordination and Supervision - Coordinate, manage and monitor the workings of the production department. Lead five production supervisors to consistently execute Patco policies and procedures.
- Best Practices - Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals. Formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output. Monitor adherence to rules, regulations and procedures.
- Production - Coordinate and monitor the work of various departments involved in production. Monitor performance and implement improvements. Ensure quality of products. Manage quality and quantity of employee productivity. Provide technical support where necessary.
- Financial - Review financial statements and data. Utilize financial data to improve profitability. Plan effective strategies for the financial well-being of the company.
- Strategic Input - Liaison with top management. Assist in the development of strategic plans for Production activity. Implement and manage production plans.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintains operational and maintenance standards in adherence with company, OSHA and other federal regulations as required.
- Ensure GMP, Food Safety and Food Quality compliance and continuous improvement.
- Establishes, deploys and monitors a world class manufacturing approach that optimizes employee safety, quality, customer satisfaction, efficiency, employee relations and performance measures.
- Provides overall leadership and direction to the Grandview production team.
- Leads the Daily Operational Review to provide stability and leadership to the meeting.
- Ensures operational supervisory leadership is supporting overall company goals and advancements.
- Takes part in the development and execution of policy for the Grandview site, as a member of the management team, specifically from the point of the Operations discipline in order to realize the operations goals of the company now and in the future.
- Proactively plans and accomplishes department and company goals in alignment with the global company objectives.
- Ensures efficient operations and production at budgeted costs.
- Executive continuous improvement projects in support of the production department goals.
- Responsible for complying with the union contract and applying union corrective action regarding grievances and other issues.
