What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher - Trucking position at Pat Fruth, Inc.?
Pat Fruth Inc, a small, established over-the-road trucking company is seeking organized and effective office personnel to provide dispatch/operations to 40 plus drivers and a highly valued long-term customer base. Previous dispatch experience is helpful, but not necessary.
The perfect candidate would be self-starting, well organized and possess excellent telephone and communication skills. As part of a close, well-connected group, job responsibilities would be quite varied. A typical day would be placing and receiving phone calls and e-mails to and from truck drivers, relaying information to and from customers/shippers, making pick-up and delivery appointments, and all planning and documentation for upcoming transportation moves as well as communicating with the shop manager to complete necessary repair work. One must possess clear and concise communication skills. Simple computer knowledge would be valued. This position would also include the expectation of taking the mobile phone some overnights and some weekends. The hours are typically 8:00 AM to 5 PM or until all issues have been mostly resolved. It would also include a few Saturday mornings in rotation with other office personnel.
