Keyboarding Clerk I

Passaic County is seeking a motivated individual to fill the position of Keyboarding Clerk 1 within the Engineering Department. This position involves routine, repetitive clerical work supporting departmental operations, including document processing, data entry, and general administrative tasks. The selected candidate will interact with staff, vendors, and the public, providing general information and assisting with basic office functions in a professional and efficient manner.

• Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate effectively
• Basic knowledge of office procedures and clerical practices
• Ability to operate a computer and perform data entry tasks with accuracy
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Examples of Work

• Key enters and types correspondence, reports, forms, and other materials from handwritten or electronic sources
• Answers and directs telephone calls and provides general information to the public and staff
• Receives, reviews, sorts, and files documents, applications, and records for processing
• Edits and proofreads documents for spelling, grammar, and accuracy
• Assists with tracking employee attendance and maintaining related records
• Assists with preparation, processing, and tracking of invoices
• Orders, receives, and maintains office supplies and inventory
• Performs routine clerical duties, including filing, scanning, and data entry
• Performs tasks accurately within prescribed time frames

Requirements:

Education: High School diploma or GED

Experience: 2 years of experience with similar work
