Duties
- Prepare a variety of deli foods including sandwiches, salads, cold cuts, cheeses, and other specialty items with precision and attention to food safety standards
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate cash handling, sales processing, and order management
- Provide friendly customer service by assisting shoppers with product selection, answering questions, and upselling additional items to enhance their experience
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area, including food handling, sanitation practices, and proper bussing of tables or counters
- Manage inventory levels by restocking shelves, rotating products for freshness, and notifying management of low stock or expired items
- Follow all food safety regulations and sanitation procedures to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff
- Support quick service operations by efficiently managing multiple tasks such as cashiering, food preparation, and customer assistance
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation or food service environments such as cafés, grocery stores, or quick service restaurants is preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Strong understanding of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling techniques
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting
- Ability to perform basic math for cash handling, retail math calculations, and inventory management
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly attitude and effective communication abilities
- Experience in cashiering or retail sales with upselling capabilities is a plus
- Kitchen or culinary experience that includes food preparation or serving is highly desirable
