What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct - English position at Passaic County Community College?
We are seeking Adjunct Faculty to teach a variety of courses in Composition, Literature, and Critical Thinking. Instructors may be offered classes in the 15-week, 12-week, 6-week, and/or Winterim terms.
Responsibilities:
- Teach assigned classes in accordance with the College's academic calendar and approved syllabi
- Meet all scheduled class sessions
- Maintain accurate student grade and attendance records using approved procedures and systems, and report them accordingly.
- Participate in assessment activities in support of the PCCC institutional effectiveness program
- Utilize appropriate technology, including the College's learning management platforms, to fulfill teaching duties
- Follow the guidelines contained in the Adjunct Faculty Handbook
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in English or related field required.
- High School teaching experience is acceptable. However, college instructional experience is preferred.
- The ability to teach online, concurrently and/or remotely is a plus.
- Availability during the day and on Saturdays is preferred
The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate
Compensation: The pay for this position is $962 per credit taught.
