Project Professional

Position Overview

Our client, a global logistics company, is seeking a Japanese Bilingual Project Professional to support equipment transportation and installation projects for Japanese manufacturers across the Midwest.

This role coordinates production equipment shipped from Japan and works closely with customers, equipment manufacturers, supervisors, contractors, rigging companies, and internal teams. Entry-level candidates are welcome, and training will be provided.

Work Location

Candidates must either:

• Reside in the Chicago area and be able to commute to the Wood Dale, Illinois office; or
• Reside in Indiana and work primarily from home, with approximately one visit to the Wood Dale office per month

Out-of-state candidates willing to relocate are also welcome. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate equipment transportation, delivery, installation, leveling, and piping
• Review equipment layouts, drawings, and project schedules
• Coordinate with customers, vendors, contractors, and installation crews
• Confirm equipment arrival and condition at project sites
• Monitor project progress, prepare reports, and track issues through completion
• Respond flexibly to schedule changes and on-site issues

Qualifications

• Business-level or higher proficiency in both Japanese and English
• Strong communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
• Interest in machinery, manufacturing equipment, and hands-on project work
• Ability to understand or learn equipment layouts and technical drawings
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
• Ability to travel frequently and work weekends or U.S. holidays as needed
• Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

A degree and prior equipment installation experience are not required. Experience in manufacturing, construction, equipment installation, or logistics is a plus.

Travel and Schedule

Frequent project-based travel is required throughout the Midwest. Assignments typically last approximately two weeks but may extend to three weeks or one month.

Work may be required during summer and winter factory shutdowns, weekends, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other holidays. Airfare, rental cars, hotel accommodations, and meal per diem are provided.

Compensation

The base salary is $50,000, with overtime pay potentially bringing total annual compensation to approximately $60,000–$70,000, depending on actual project demands and hours worked. This range is not guaranteed.
