JOB DESCRIPTION
The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure a high standard of visual appearance and seamless operation of multiple venues and properties. Including outdoor landscaping and grounds repairs as well as building and utility system repairs and preventative maintenance. You will be a steward and called upon to assist before, during, and after events to support the company's primary focus. This person will be on call to problem-solve emergencies in the event situations arise.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Maintenance
- Conduct routine safety checks (fire alarms, emergency exits, lighting).
- Perform minor repairs: plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, and appliances.
- Maintain and repair kitchen equipment.
- Oversee subcontractors as needed for specialized maintenance.
Landscaping & Groundskeeping
- Mow lawns, trim greenery, and maintain gardens, walkways, and parking lots.
- Clear snow, ice, and debris; apply salt during winter months.
- Maintain outdoor furniture and seasonal décor.
Seasonal & Special Maintenance
- Gutter cleaning, pressure washing, and outdoor winterization.
- Install and remove seasonal décor.
- Support hot tub or special facility features if applicable.
Inventory & Tools Management
- Monitor and restock essential supplies (light bulbs, toiletries, etc.).
- Keep a detailed inventory of of equipment and tools
- Maintain tools and records for and coordinate with vendors as needed.
Additional Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests, including evenings/weekends.
- Assist with pest control and HVAC system inspections.
- Occasionally support special projects and a private rental property.
- Assist with event operations as needed.
- Ensure the level of cleanliness, organization and a high level or standards set forth.
- Conduct preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and utility systems to ensure longevity.
- Diagnose and schedule repairs for issues related to plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and appliances.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, including evenings and weekends if needed.
- Manage groundskeeping tasks including lawn care and general clean-up.
- Oversee subcontract workers for onsite projects.
- Communicate effectively with the property manager, leadership team, and contractors and provide clear explanations of maintenance issues and proposed solutions.
OCCASIONAL OTHER DUTIES MAY INCLUDE
- Assist with event operations as needed.
- Occasional maintenance of an additional private rental property.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification is a plus.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in property maintenance or a related field.
- General knowledge of utilities such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.
Technical Skills
- Technical proficiency in basic maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
- Excellent use of creativity and resourcefulness to assist in problem-solving.
- General knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.
- Ability to operate tractors and small machinery as needed.
- Basic computer skills including Gmail and google drive.
Physical
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual tasks.
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting through the shift.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds frequently and independently.
Other
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to work.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS
- Schedule may fluctuate seasonally and based on event bookings.
- Occasional weekend availability will be required.
- Peak-season (May - Nov): Full-time hours of up to 50 , with the goal of 40hrs average.
- Off-season (Dec - Apr): Full-time hours of approximately 40hrs.
COMPENSATION
Pay
- Competitive starting compensation and benefits commensurate with experience.
- Base rate range of $23.00-$28.00
