What You'll Do
- Welcome patients and create a warm, professional experience from check-in through check-out
- Build strong relationships with patients and help them feel comfortable discussing their dental needs
- Present and explain treatment plans, recommended procedures, fees, and next steps in a clear and patient-friendly manner
- Review insurance benefits and estimated patient portions to help patients understand their financial responsibility
- Discuss available payment and financing options and confidently address patient questions or concerns
- Follow up with patients who have unscheduled or pending treatment to help them move forward with recommended care
- Track treatment acceptance, pending treatment, and case follow-up to support practice goals
- Coordinate appointments for treatment and ensure patients understand what to expect before their visits
- Manage appointment scheduling, confirmations, cancellations, and rescheduling while maintaining an efficient daily schedule
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow through to ensure continuity of care
- Communicate closely with doctors and the clinical team regarding treatment plans, patient questions, and scheduling needs
- Verify insurance benefits, assist with claims, and follow up on outstanding patient accounts as needed
- Participate in daily huddles and help identify opportunities to improve patient flow and case acceptance
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure treatment and financial information is documented properly
- Use effective communication and patient-centered scripts to overcome concerns and help patients make informed decisions about care
- Promote the practice by encouraging patient reviews, referrals, and continued care
- Maintain HIPAA and OSHA compliance at all times
- Support a clean, organized, and welcoming front-office environment
- At least 1 year of dental office experience preferred
- Experience in treatment coordination, dental front office, or patient relations is a plus
- Strong understanding of dental terminology and basic dental procedures
- Familiarity with dental insurance, benefits, and patient financial responsibilities
- ADA code knowledge is a plus
- Confident and compassionate communication skills
- Comfortable presenting treatment plans, discussing fees, and asking for case acceptance
- Strong follow-up skills with the ability to stay organized and track multiple patients and treatment plans
- Comfortable addressing patient questions, concerns, and objections in a professional manner
- Highly organized, dependable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced dental environment
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
- Motivated by providing excellent patient care and contributing to practice growth
