DEFINITION:

Responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating communications and marketing efforts to strengthen Partnership Health Center’s (PHC) brand; increase awareness of services and programs; and advance strategic and financial goals.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of communications, marketing, branding, public relations, and media relations principles. Knowledge of digital communications, website content management, social media, visual communications, audience engagement strategies, and communications analytics. Knowledge of project management and evaluation methods. Working knowledge of graphic design, photography, video production, and other creative disciplines sufficient to direct projects and manage external partners. Working knowledge of HIPAA requirements and organizational compliance standards.

SKILLS: Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Strong project management and organizational skills.

ABILITIES: Ability to develop and implement effective communications strategies and plans. Ability to translate complex information into clear and compelling communications for a variety of audiences. Ability to build collaborative relationships with leadership, staff, media, community partners, contractors, consultants, and vendors. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines. Ability to evaluate communications efforts and use data to improve performance. Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and represent PHC professionally. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive communications issues and changing organizational priorities.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE: Three years of progressively responsible experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field. Experience managing communications projects is required.

Experience working with external contractors, consultants, or vendors is preferred. Experience in health care or nonprofit organizations is preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Subject to passing a criminal background investigation that will require fingerprinting. Requires immunizations or proof of immunity to certain infectious diseases and a TB test. May require a pre-employment drug screening.


REPRESENTATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK:


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Develops, implements, and evaluates an annual communications and marketing plan in support of PHC’s strategic priorities. Coordinates implementation of the annual plan in partnership with staff and external communications partners.

Develops and maintains PHC's brand standards and ensures consistent branding and messaging across organizational communications.

Develops communications that increase awareness of PHC's services and programs. Leads communications projects from concept through completion.

Oversees PHC's print and digital communications. Ensures content is accurate, timely, accessible, and consistent with PHC's brand.

Plans and implements internal communications that keep staff informed, engaged, and aligned with organizational priorities.

Builds and maintains relationships with media, community partners, and other external stakeholders. Supports senior leadership with public messaging and media relations.

Develops communications that tell PHC's story and support fundraising, grant development, advocacy, and community outreach.

Measures communications and marketing performance using data and audience feedback. Recommends opportunities for continuous improvement.

Manages relationships with contractors, consultants, and vendors to support communications and marketing projects.

OTHER DUTIES:
Performs related work as required or directed.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Works under the general direction of the Impact and Development Director.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Coordinates the work of external contractors, consultants, and vendors. May supervise Communications and Marketing staff as assigned.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Works with leadership, staff, community partners, media, contractors, consultants, vendors, and the general public to coordinate communications and marketing projects and build positive relationships on behalf of PHC.


PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:


Work is primarily performed in an office setting and will involve considerable use of a computer. Requires frequent standing and walking, occasional light lifting and carrying of files or supplies (up to 50 lbs.). Work will regularly require attendance at meetings and community outreach events, which may occasionally include activities outside of normal business days and hours. Some weekend and evening travel may be required. The work is performed in clinical settings and may expose the employee to communicable diseases. This position is not eligible for full-time remote work.
