A growing food manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids is currently seeking an experienced Production Line Lead for 2nd shift. This role is ideal for someone with experience working in a fast paced production environment who can lead and support a production team while maintaining strong attendance and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support production team members on the line
- Operate and monitor bagging or wrapping machines
- Work with cereal film or similar packaging materials
- Ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently
- Support supervisors with line organization and team communication
- Maintain quality, safety, and production standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food production or manufacturing environments within the food industry strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of FDA regulations, HACCP principles, GMP standards, and food safety practices
- Experience running bag machines, wrappers, or similar packaging equipment preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing equipment is a plus
- Experience with sanitation procedures in a food processing plant environment
- Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for quality control and inventory purposes
- Forklift certification or experience operating forklifts safely is desirable
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation
- Strong attendance and reliability
- Ability to work in a fast paced production environment
