Director of Finance
Occupational Health Practice (5 Locations – NY Metro)
Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Director of Finance to lead all financial operations for a growing, multi-site occupational health practice. This role is highly operational and requires deep expertise in QuickBooks, with direct ownership of billing, collections, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
This is not a passive, high-level FP&A role - the ideal candidate will actively build, manage, and optimize core financial workflows, particularly around employer invoicing and revenue cycle performance. Reports directly to the practice owner.
Lead a team with the following key responsibilities:
1. Billing & Revenue Cycle Oversight (Core Priority)
Own end-to-end billing process across 5 locations:
- Intake of billing data (currently Excel-based)
- Invoice generation in QuickBooks
- Delivery and tracking of invoices to employer clients
- Design and implement a standardized, scalable billing workflow
2. Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Manage daily cash position and short-term liquidity
- Forecast cash flow weekly and monthly
3. Financial Reporting & KPI Development
Produce and analyze:
- Monthly P&L by location
- Cash flow statements
- AR aging reports
4. Process Improvement & Automation
- Evaluate and implement tools to improve workflows
Qualifications
Required
- 5-10 years of finance/accounting experience, preferably in healthcare or multi-site services
- Deep, hands-on expertise with QuickBooks
- Demonstrated experience managing billing and collections processes
Strong understanding of:
- Accounts receivable workflows
- Cash application and reconciliation
- Multi-entity or multi-location reporting
Preferred
- Experience in occupational health, urgent care, or employer-based medical billing
- Familiarity with high-volume, low-dollar invoice environments and non-insurance / direct employer billing models
- Experience implementing financial systems or workflow automation
The target salary range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000.
