Certified Medical Assistant
Partners in Nephrology & Endocrinology (PINE) is a leading nephrology and endocrinology group in western Pennsylvania. For more than 35 years, the PINE physician practice has provided advanced treatment of kidney and endocrine diseases. The practice has over 33 providers as of August 2024, across more than 14 convenient office locations in Allegheny and Washington counties.
Job Summary
Provide urgent clinical support to PINE physicians and patients in a fast-paced environment while handling clinical and administrative tasks including rooming patients and completing physician orders for the Bloomfield, Blawnox, Natrona Heights and Monroeville offices.
Job Responsibilities
- Assists Providers in exam rooms
- Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patent's electronic medical record
- Provide instructions to patients as instructed by Provider
- Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments
- Maintain all logs and required checks
- Display ability to work in a team environment
- All other duties as assigned by the Practice Administrator
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma; some college preferred
- Medical Assistant course completion
- Medical assistant certification (preferred, ability to obtain upon hire)
- 2 years of clinical experience
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Records
- Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities, and manage time effectively
- Patient focused and adaptability to different personality types
- knowledge of medical terminology and medications
- Endocrinology knowledge highly preferred
