Wage: $42-60.53 per hour based on experience.
Status: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt. 36 hours per week (3-12-hour shifts). Combination of Weekdays and Weekends.
Hours: 7:30 PM to 7:30 AM. Work outside of these hours may be required.

Summary/Objective: The Hospice House RN is responsible for delivering direct nursing care, educating patients and their families, and providing emotional support in our inpatient Hospice House. The RN plays a key role in managing individualized care plans, coordinating with interdisciplinary team members, and ensuring comfort and dignity for patients at the end of life.

- Apply nursing principles and techniques to treat patients. Provide nursing care, emotional support, and patient/family/ caregiver education. Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, family, and caregiver information.
- Is responsible for the implementation and continued development of the patient care plan and the physician's plan of treatment, and is responsible for the patient's case management.
- Follow the guidelines for universal precautions when providing patient care and demonstrate proper techniques in the application of infection control standards.
- Maintain records of services performed and the patient's apparent condition, using documentation guidelines and standards set forth by the organization.
- Communicate with physicians and others as needed to coordinate and ensure high-quality care. Communicate on a regular basis with all staff/volunteers regarding patient status.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the dying process and recognize the importance of maintaining professional boundaries.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse License.
- Ability to pass a background test, drug screen, and TB test.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- One to two years of recent medical care experience in an institutional setting is preferred. Ideal candidates will possess 1-2 years of home health or hospice experience.
- Active CPR Certification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
- Compassion, empathy, and dedication to patient care.
