About the Role
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with their hands, using tools, and creating precise, high-quality work. Dental or orthodontic experience is not required. Candidates with backgrounds in wire forming, jewelry, precision manufacturing, medical device assembly, electronics assembly, or other hands-on craftsmanship may have highly transferable skills for this position.
You'll learn specialized techniques for bending and shaping wire and metal components used in custom orthodontic appliances. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys detailed repetitive work, and wants to develop a specialized skill set within the orthodontic industry.
What You'll Do:
- Bend, shape, and manipulate various types of wire and metal components using hand tools to create precise, repeatable bends according to detailed case specifications
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment to fabricate orthodontic appliances with precision and accuracy
- Follow detailed specifications and established techniques to ensure consistent results across cases
- Inspect completed work to ensure products meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Perform detailed, repetitive hands-on work while maintaining accuracy and focus throughout the day
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals and turnaround times
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow established processes and quality control procedures
- Assist with additional laboratory tasks and projects as assigned
What We're Looking For:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–2 years of experience in a hands-on, precision-focused environment preferred
- Relevant experience may include wire forming, jewelry, dental/orthodontic labs, medical device manufacturing, precision assembly, electronics assembly, or similar skilled trades
- Strong hand dexterity, grip strength, and ability to manipulate firm wire and small components using hand tools
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality work
- Ability to perform repetitive, hands-on tasks that require focus, patience, and accuracy
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and reproduce specific techniques consistently
- Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills and techniques
