Team Description
The Private Markets Co-Investment Team is a group dedicated to investing in single asset opportunities, with the primary goal of delivering high total returns over the long term by investing alongside top-tier managers in private equity buyouts, growth equity and select venture capital.
Approximately 50% of the firm’s private equity co-investments are alongside managers with whom Partners Capital has made fund commitments, with the balance alongside other funded and independent sponsors. We see approximately 350-400 co-investment opportunities each year and close on 15-20 new platform investments each year. We are working to expand and improve the quality of our opportunity set.
The Private Markets Co-Investment Team works in conjunction with the Private Equity Funds team on sourcing and due diligence. The Team manages approximately $2.4B of invested private equity co- investment capital and approximately $800M of uncalled committed capital.
Position Description
We are looking for a Principal, Sourcing to join our growing team in the New York office. The newly created role will be primarily responsible for growing high quality deal flow for Partners Capital’s private equity co-investment practice. Secondary responsibilities include working closely with the private equity primary funds team on generating new primary fund leads and the private credit team on both primary and co-investment opportunities. This role requires a professional with demonstrated experience sourcing opportunities in the private equity ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain deep relationships within the private equity sponsor community, intermediaries and others to source high quality co-investment opportunities
- Differentiate between attractive and unattractive opportunities, focusing on quality over quantity
- Nimbly move between co-investment and primary fund opportunities, understanding how they can be related and working to optimize outcomes for Partners Capital’s clients
- Collaborate across the Partners Capital ecosystem to build, maintain, and strengthen external relationships
- Represent the firm externally, enhancing the firm’s visibility and credibility within the private markets landscape
- Contribute to the strategic development and scaling of the firm’s private equity co-investment and primaries platforms

Additional responsibilities include:
- Responsible for ensuring all information security processes, policies and procedures are adhered to and any issues or concerns are raised with the Cyber Security team
- Ensure full compliance with all local data protection regulations and privacy controls, and any related issues are raised via the appropriate channels
Qualifications / Attributes
- 5 years of investment banking, sponsor coverage, or business development experience in or adjacent to the private equity industry. Middle market experience preferred
- Charismatic team player; strong interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Collaborative; able to source both deals and funds for multiple constituents
- Self-starter and process-driven; takes initiative to research targets, build lists, create outreach processes, triage opportunities, and coordinate with the team
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Ability to demonstrate professional maturity and build and maintain relationships with senior members of the organization
- Values the importance of in-person relationship building
- Willingness to travel
- Undergraduate degree required

New York requires Partners Capital to include a reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role. This base salary range is specific to individuals applying to work in our New York office and takes into account a number of factors. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role in New York is $165,000 to $250,000. The base salary offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
The base salary is one element of our competitive compensation package. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
