Job Description
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Network Engineer to join our team!
What You'll Be Doing
- Monitors and measures activity and performance of a commercial telecom/IP network.
- Collects, interprets, and reports network data and individual customer performance data to provide statistics for billing.
- Develops applications and programs in C, C , and JAVA, as well as programs/scripts in PERL, AWK, and SED.
- Technical knowledge includes an in-depth understanding of TCP/IP, SNMP, ATM, and frame relay.
- Must also be knowledgeable of network management tools such as HPOV, Netcool, and Nerve Center; web development tools including CGI, HTML, and Active Server Pages (ASP); and operating systems such as Solaris and Windows NT.
- Applies advanced principles, theories, and concepts.
- Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas.
- Works on unusually complex problems and provides solutions that are highly creative.
- Works under consultative direction toward predetermining long-range targets.
- Provides advice and counsel to the organization in area of expertise.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Bachelor’s degree and typically 10 years of related professional experience. An advanced degree may be preferred at this level.
- DoD IAT Level II (e.g., Security CE, Network CE, or CCNA Security) – Baseline DoD information assurance qualification.
- CompTIA Security CE – Essential cybersecurity knowledge certification for network operations.
- Must possess TS/SCI Clearance with CI Poly
- CCIE – Expert-level Cisco credential in enterprise infrastructure or security.
- CCNP – Advanced Cisco networking design, implementation, and troubleshooting certification.
- CISSP – Management-level security certification for information assurance roles.
- JNCIE – Juniper expert credential for network design and troubleshooting.
