Role Overview
Front of House Shift Leads partner with the management team to execute great shifts while supporting the development of the FOH team. This role requires strong communication, sound judgment, and a willingness to step into whatever the shift needs most.
Shift Leads help reinforce CHEERS, support guest recovery, coach teammates in the moment, and keep the restaurant focused on delivering great hospitality and operational execution.
Responsibilities Duties
- Assist the management team in opening, running, and closing successful shifts
- Lead by example by consistently demonstrating CHEERS:
- Cheerful Prompt Greet: Create a welcoming first impression and help set the tone for the shift
- Hospitality First: Step into any position needed to support guests and teammates
- Engage Guests: Build genuine connections through purposeful conversations and table touches
- Ease Their Needs: Anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns before they become problems
- Ready for 'Em: Help maintain dining room flow, table turns, cleanliness, and communication throughout the shift
- Swipe That Card – Say Goodbye: Ensure guests leave feeling appreciated and excited to return
- Support Service Managers by coaching teammates and reinforcing Parry's service, cleanliness, and appearance standards
- Assist with training new team members, completing validations, and helping teammates build confidence in their roles
- Become knowledgeable on Parry's menu, beer program, promotions, and loyalty program so you can confidently support guests and coach the team
- Help maintain restaurant readiness through pre-bussing, dining room awareness, opening and closing duties, and safety and sanitation standards
- Communicate effectively with Managers, BOH, and FOH teammates to keep the shift organized and on pace
- Lead with a positive attitude, professionalism, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed
Qualifications Skills
- Previous restaurant experience required; leadership experience preferred
- Demonstrates leadership through actions, accountability, and teamwork
- Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills
- Passion for hospitality and developing others
- Comfortable coaching peers while maintaining positive relationships
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business requires
- Able to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 35 lbs. as needed
- Professional, energetic, and guest-focused demeanor
- Coachable with a desire to grow into future management opportunities
