Residential Skills Trainer is a vital role based in Oregon City, where you will support youth in residential settings by fostering independence and life skills. Responsibilities
Provide direct support to youth in residential care settings.
- Assist clients with daily living activities (ADLs) and life skills development.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors.
- Support clients’ emotional and social needs through effective communication.
- Document progress and collect data to inform treatment plans.
- Collaborate with team members and community partners to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for clients.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay current with best practice.
- Provide trauma-informed care.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree and minimum two years' experience (or equivalent) in a residential setting or working with adolescents required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to implement behavior management techniques.
- Compassionate attitude and commitment to client wellbeing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in residential or community-based care is advantageous.
- Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Able to practice and model self regulation.
- Computer literate.
- Ability to lift 35 pounds.
- Have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Be able to drive as 12-passenger van.
- Must have CPR/1st Aid certification.
- Must have Food Handlers card.
- Be trained in CPI or willing to be trained in CPI.
