This position has typical work hours Monday – Friday from 7:30AM – 5:00PM, Saturday as needed

Job Summary:
The Mobile Mechanical Service B Technician will perform onsite tractor-trailer DOT inspections, B-level preventative maintenance (B-PM), air brake service, and chassis greasing. This field-based role keeps our customers safe, compliant, and on the road.
Essential Functions and Tasks:
- Conduct DOT inspections and ensure all tractor-trailer units meet federal and state safety standards.
- Perform B-PM services, including oil, filters, fluids, and safety checks
- Inspect and adjust air brake systems, including chambers, lines, valves, & abs components, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations.
- Grease chassis, suspension, and driveline components
- Perform Diagnosis of Fault Codes using software including Jpro, Jal test, and other forms of electronic failure codes.
- Determine if repairs can be handled in the field or must be sent to the shop for further diagnosis and repair.
- Complete service reports and ensure DOT documentation is accurate.
- Complete minor repairs including lights, air leaks, brakes, wheel seals, hub caps as needed and report heavier repairs to Service Manager for scheduling repair in shop.
- Respond to mobile service calls as needed.
- Monitor and maintain the mobile service truck, and report any repairs needed to Service Manager.
- Any other duties assigned by the store manager
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of heavy-duty technician experience (Certifications a Plus)
- Software diagnosis experience
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and preventative maintenance
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a Plus)
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Must have own basic tools
- Adherent to all safety standards

Required Physical Abilities:
Physical requirements of this position may require a range of activities. These can include, but are not limited to:
- Lifting and carrying – the ability to lift and transport objects of specified weights, which may vary by job. For example, a job may require lifting up 25-50lbs regularly.
- Standing and walking – this position will require standing and walking for periods of time
- Bending and stooping – bending, stooping, or crouching are requiring to effectively preform essential duties of this position.
- Reaching and pushing/pulling – the ability to reach for items, push carts, or pull equipment will be necessary for daily activities.
- Sitting – there will be times this position will be needed to sit for prolonged periods of time.
- This position will also be required to operate certain machinery and other equipment safely.
Work Environment:
This position will require employees to work in certain weather conditions, such as heat, cold, as well as potentially confined spaces.
