What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Bus Monitor position at Parma City School District?
Reports to: Supervisor of Transportation
Salary: $11.65 starting hourly rate
Work Schedule:4.5 hours per day, split shift
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED.
Must have the temperament, personality and patience to deal with special needs students.
Ability to cope with stressful situations as it relates to the special needs student.
Ability to understand and/or give clear and concise instructions.
Ability to respond to a variety of needs of the special needs students.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out precise but not complicated written or oral instructions.
Ability to work in a friendly manner with other staff and students.
Physical capabilities of appropriately lifting and managing special needs children when necessary.
Possessing or upgrading skills through in-service training related to transportation of the special needs children.
Regular and predictable attendance is required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a van endorsement.
Knowledge of Basic First Aid.
