**Overview**
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Surgical Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the surgical department, ensuring that all surgical procedures run smoothly and efficiently. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
**Responsibilities**
- Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures, including patient intake, pre-operative testing, and post-operative care
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
- Review patient medical records and ensure that all necessary information is up-to-date
- Prepare and maintain accurate and detailed records of patient data, including medical histories and surgical procedures
- Utilize computerized systems to manage patient data and generate reports
- Manage medical billing and insurance claims, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Conduct medical collections and resolve any billing or insurance issues
- Maintain a high level of patient satisfaction by providing exceptional customer service and addressing any concerns or issues promptly
- Stay up-to-date with current medical procedures, technologies, and regulations, including ICD-10 coding
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with hospital staff, including nursing and administrative teams
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
**Skills**
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems, including ICD-10
- Excellent phone and e-mail etiquette, communication skills, and time management skills
- Understanding of medical billing and insurance claims
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Experience with computerized systems, including electronic health records (EHRs)
- Strong administrative skills and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Experience working in a medical office setting
- Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and customer service
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
