Parkview seeks dependable, energetic, and creative individuals to join our Activities team! You must be patient and kind and love to work with seniors of various ability levels.
Duties and responsibilities of the Activities Assistant: Training and educating of geriatric adults according to established rules and regulations and standard practices of the profession; under direct supervision of the Activity Director. Responsible for resident’s daily morning & afternoon activities that incorporate well-rounded activities. Responsible for assisting in the development of programs, and following the activity calendar. Attends and participates in scheduled care plans, and activity meetings. Maintains knowledge in all current rules and guidelines as issued from local and state level organizations; implements such rules and guidelines in day to day operations.
Attends required in-service seminars and workshops. Cooperates with and assists all facility personnel in the coordination of programs and objectives. Assists in the planning of outside activities
Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record. Position requires candidate to possess or obtain a JO-5 or CDL with passenger endorsement license in order to transport residents on activities and outings. Having a valid C.N.A. certificate is a plus but not required.
Position requires some weekend and evening hours for activities.
Physical requirements: Pushing residents in wheelchairs. Bending, stooping, twisting, squatting, kneeling and reaching above shoulders. Ability to walk and stand for an 8 hour day and lift 50 pounds.
