What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collision Apprentice (58534) position at Parks Automotive Group?
Job Responsibilities:
- Efficient dismantling of vehicles to ensure timely repairs.
- Attention to detail for labeling and separating damaged parts from non-damaged parts to aid in the repair planning.
- Work with a Repair Planner for effective repair mapping.
- Work with a body technician to learn body shop basics to include; Operate a variety of hand and power tools ( welder, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sander, spray guns, etc.) Fill depressions with body filler, Remove damaged parts and hardware, reassemble after parts are painted; insure all repairs are in accordance with OEM standards.
- Ensure that working areas and equipment are kept clean and organized.
- Participate in ongoing training with I-CAR.
- Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
- Participate in ongoing training.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- General mechanical skills.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Pass pre-employment insurability, background and drug screenings
- Work well with others and be self-motivated
