Collision Apprentice (58534)

Job Responsibilities:

• Efficient dismantling of vehicles to ensure timely repairs.
• Attention to detail for labeling and separating damaged parts from non-damaged parts to aid in the repair planning.
• Work with a Repair Planner for effective repair mapping.
• Work with a body technician to learn body shop basics to include; Operate a variety of hand and power tools ( welder, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sander, spray guns, etc.) Fill depressions with body filler, Remove damaged parts and hardware, reassemble after parts are painted; insure all repairs are in accordance with OEM standards.
• Ensure that working areas and equipment are kept clean and organized.
• Participate in ongoing training with I-CAR.
• Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
• Participate in ongoing training.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• High school diploma or the equivalent.
• General mechanical skills.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Pass pre-employment insurability, background and drug screenings
• Work well with others and be self-motivated
