CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FACILITIES ATTENDANT
Position: Part-time hourly, non-exempt position.
Direct Supervisor: Club Manager, Operations Manager, Front Desk/Maintenance coordinator
Job Summary: As a member of the Parkpoint employee team, the Front Desk Receptionist/Maintenance staff person is to demonstrate the Parkpoint Mission (see above) and Core Values of Excellence, Respect, Integrity, Teamwork and Community and Health and Well Being at all times and in all interactions with members, staff, and managers. They are to work as a team to provide Parkpoint’s standard of excellence in customer service, and to maintain overall club cleanliness and maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reception Duties:
- Smile, make eye contact, and greet all members, prospective members, and guests by name in a prompt, friendly and professional manner. Provide personalized customer service and develop a friendly rapport with all members.
- Provide assistance and information to facilitate a positive experience for every member and guest.
- Reach out to new members and welcome them into the Parkpoint community.
- Check-in members, check account status, and other computer responsibilities.
- Register guests and non-members, and collect appropriate fees as needed.
- Answer phones in a professional and friendly manner. Answer questions, take reservations, direct calls to the appropriate staff person or member; page and make announcements over the intercom when necessary; use the voice mail system when applicable.
- Address any member’s concerns in a friendly and pro-active manner, listen empathetically, offer options, and follow up with the appropriate manager.
- Maintain a clean, organized, presentable front desk area, lobby and reception area.
- Monitor supplies and report needs to your supervisor.
- Perform required opening and closing duties per the checklist when scheduled.
- Communicate regularly with supervisors and staff to let issues be known.
Club Programming Duties:
- Provide accurate, up-to-date information about Club activities, programs, events and policies.
- Promote all Club Activities through friendly member interactions.
- Register members and non-members for classes, pool lanes, childcare and events. Be responsible for collecting appropriate fees using the Club Automation system.
Maintenance and Operational Duties:
- Regularly circulate all areas of club to execute all cleaning procedures and follow all Club cleaning procedures
- Provide deep cleaning and preventative maintenance tasks when needed or assigned.
- Perform regular locker room checks, chemical checks, laundry and general cleaning as assigned.
- Stock all areas of the club with appropriate amenities, supplies, and towels. Keep all supply cabinets neat and organized. Report to manager when inventory stock is low.
- Wash, dry, and fold towels.
- Attend to any facility and member issues; contact a manager when applicable; follow up with the appropriate manager regarding any issues/concerns occurring.
- Handle lost and found items according to procedure.
- Perform required opening and closing duties per the checklist when scheduled.
Membership Duties:
- Greet and graciously receive guests, provide basic membership information, and tour prospective members per procedures. Answer phone calls and in-person inquiries on membership as per procedures.
- Stay in good communication with the Membership Department and work with them to welcome and integrate prospects into the Club.
All Staff Responsibilities:
- Attend all required departmental and all-staff meetings and trainings. Maintain good relations with all Parkpoint staff. Know and abide by all Club rules and regulations regarding both staff and members. Report all problems to your supervisor.
- Accept and complete any special assignments as needed for Club operations.
- Present a neat, well-groomed appearance at all times; dress in full uniform with a name badge.
- Assist in training new Front Desk and Maintenance staff when needed.
Job Qualifications/Requirements/Certifications:
- Must have reliable transportation to work.
- Hold and maintain a current CPR and AED certification (within 90 days of hire)
- Complete Anti-Harassment training
- Complete RBS Training if applicable
- Outgoing, friendly personality; positive attitude; team player
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrate proficiency on the computer and of basic math skills
- Multitask, work under pressure and maintain a positive customer service orientation
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality
- Possess excellent written, reading, and verbal English speaking and professional phone skills.
- Able to stand for up to 6 – 8 hours; walk and move quickly; climb stairs; kneel; bend from the waist; reach overhead; lift, push and pull 25 – 50 pounds.
- Ability and willingness to work with cleaning chemicals and pool and spa chemicals as needed.
- Sales and promotional aptitude a plus
