Mill Operator - Asphalt Milling Crew

Position: Mill Operator (2-Foot Asphalt Mill)

We are looking for an experienced Mill Operator to join our asphalt crew. This position will operate our smaller 2-foot milling machine on commercial asphalt repair and pavement maintenance projects. Experience operating milling equipment is required.

This is a hands-on position requiring attention to detail, communication with the crew, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in fast-paced construction environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate a 2-foot asphalt milling machine safely and efficiently
• Perform asphalt milling for patching, utility repairs, transitions, and prep work
• Maintain proper milling depth, straight lines, and clean edges
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Coordinate with foremen, laborers, and truck drivers on job sites
• Load/unload equipment as needed
• Follow all company safety procedures and traffic control requirements
• Assist crew with additional asphalt work when milling is complete

Requirements

• Previous experience operating asphalt milling equipment REQUIRED
• Experience with small-track mills or 2-foot mills preferred
• Knowledge of asphalt paving and patching operations
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor
• CDL is a plus, but not required
• Must work well with crews and maintain a positive attitude

Seasonal full-time position
Typical season: March through November
Typical start time: 5:30–6:00 AM
