Position Summary
The Quality Tech I is responsible for inspecting raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality plans and product requirements. This role involves effectively communicating quality standards and expectations to team members and collaborating with suppliers to maintain product integrity. The Quality Tech I investigates and reports non-conformances and their probable causes, utilizing quality systems to generate SCARs, CARs, IRNs, and quality alerts as needed.
Responsibilities
Inspect raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
Understand quality plans/product requirements and effectively communicate them to TMs
Investigate and report of non-conformances and probable causes
Effectively communicate with team members and suppliers
Use of quality systems to generate SCARS, CARS, IRNS, and quality alerts
Follow established quality processes and standards
Follow safety rules and regulations
Other duties as assigned
Responsibilities
Requirements and Working Conditions:
Works without close supervision, latitude in making decisions
Must be able to lift to approximately 40 pounds repeatedly during shift
Must be able to read a tape measure to 1/16th of an inch
Must be able to read and understand quality specs
Must be able to stand at work station for a long period of time
Must be able to travel throughout the facility to obtain information needed to perform job function
Skills and Abilities:
Basic trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
Basic computer skills, Microsoft, Outlook, Internet and Navigate MRP
Basic math problem solving skills
Ability to communicate in English
Ability to use standard testing lab tools
Ability to pass a tape measure test
Understanding of document control
Other duties as assigned
