Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) provides specialized behavioral support to students with significant behavioral, social-emotional, and developmental needs. This role is essential in building staff capacity, improving student outcomes, and ensuring compliance with state and federal special education requirements.
Reports to: Director of Special Education and/or Building Principal
This is a Non-Union Position.
Responsibilities
- Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) and develop behavior intervention plans (BIPs) that reflect evidence-based practices.
- Provide modeling, coaching, and ongoing support to teachers, paraprofessionals, and service providers to implement behavior plans with fidelity.
- Collect and analyze student behavior data to monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed.
- Support crisis-prevention and crisis-response efforts, including staff training in de-escalation and behavior-support strategies.
- Collaborate with administrators, school psychologists, special education teachers, social workers, and outside agencies to support high-needs students.
- Participate in IEP team meetings and provide behavior-analytic input aligned to student goals and services.
- Train staff on evidence-based behavioral practices, classroom management, reinforcement systems, and proactive supports.
- Assist in developing building-wide and district-wide systems that promote positive behavior and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Maintain documentation that meets all compliance expectations under IDEA and state regulations.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field.
- Current BCBA certification.
- Experience working in a school setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills.
- Ability to analyze data, problem-solve, and support staff with high-needs learners.
Work Year: Follows the district’s staff calendar with additional days as needed to meet student and program needs.
