What are the responsibilities and job description for the Card Operator position at Parkdale US Cotton?
Evaluation of Job Duties
Repair broken sliver ends as needed to maintain efficiently
- No waste is to be put into suction chambers
- Load empty cans for doffing
- Thoroughly clean assigned cards each shift using proper LOTO procedures.
- See IDF OPERATOR JSA for PPE instructions
- Repair breaks and chokes in the IDF as needed to maintain set efficiency standards (95%)
- Stage full card cans in appropriate area after doffing.
- Sweep card area as needed to maintain cleanliness
- Run re-workable waste in appropriate waste hoppers
- Do not remove lumps/tags from cylinder/doffer on cotton cards; inform technician immediately so lump/tag can be removed
- Report any unsafe conditions or practices to management immediately
- Perform any other duties assigned by management
SUCCESS FACTORS/JOB COMPETENCIES:
Previous mechanical experience
PREFERRED EDUCATION/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES
High School Diploma or GED
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to learn and perform all scheduled job procedures independently; to keep the assigned job functioning at all times.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be physically equipped to maintain an upright, walking position for a twelve (12) hour shifts. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must keep work area and machines clean. Wear required personal protective equipment at all times and adhered to all safety rules and procedures.
