Shift: 3p-11a and 11p-7a Part-Time
Location: Dover Park Village
Salary: Up to $16.40/hour
General Job Summary:
Personal Attendants are Personal Care Assistants (PCA) that provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living to residents, while promoting independence in accordance with safety standards. Observes and reports changes in residents’ physical and emotional condition to nurse or supervisor. Fosters self-respect and a feeling of worth in each resident by consistent understanding and kindness in care.
Scope of Job Tasks:
- May assist residents with Activities of Daily Living, including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, and transferring. Provides residents with tub baths and obtains weight for nurse. Properly lifts residents according to needs determination, using proper assistance (i.e. 2 PAs, Sit/Stand Lift, Full Body Lift)
- Makes resident beds, changes linens, and organizes rooms to maintain a safe environment. Washes, dries, and replaces resident personal laundry and facility linen.
- Answers call lights in a timely manner.
- Assists new residents in transition to facility – labeling and putting away belongings, advising of meal and activities schedules, etc.
- Maintains clean work rooms, records resident data on various logs, and properly stores equipment.
- Attends required in-service training and meetings.
- Other tasks as assigned within scope of practice.
- Maintains Standard Precautions at all time to ensure proper infection control.
